Battle Ground Park

BattleGroundPark92DPI

“Battle Ground Park”, a 12” x 16” Oil on Board painting was started on site during late afternoon and was finished in the studio. This is not a “pure” plein air painting but considered a hybrid by many artists. A point of light in a painting often can pull an otherwise luke warm view together. This was one of those paintings. Painting oil on board has a property in which the color does not “sink” into the surface such as it would on a stretched canvas. This seems to allow additional color bounce when placing the highlights. Not rocket science but seems to work for me.
This painting is also on my Giclee print availability web site, Fine Art America. Prints may be obtained sized very close to the original painting dimensions. Mats and frames are also available from this site.
